Job Overview The Assistant Partnerships Lead serves as the educational leader for classrooms with students who are dually enrolled in both the Independent School District (ISD) and the AVANCE Head Start program and the non-collaboration partnership classroom. In this joint leadership role, the Assistant Partnerships Lead works in close collaboration with the ISD Principal to ensure all programmatic, instructional, and compliance requirements are met to support the needs of children and families. The Assistant Partnerships Lead is responsible for the full implementation of AVANCE’s and the ISD’s early learning frameworks, policies, procedures, and tools. This includes oversight of curriculum fidelity, child assessment, family engagement, staff development, and regulatory compliance. The Assistant Partnerships Lead will ensure that both program standards are aligned and that all children are supported in achieving School Readiness Goals through high-quality early childhood education and comprehensive services as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding. Job Responsibilities Child Growth and Development Provide ongoing support to AVANCE teaching staff to ensure effective implementation of all aspects of their roles, in alignment with both AVANCE and ISD standards. Model and promote effective teacher-child interactions aligned with CLASS™ domains: Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support. Support teachers in creating and maintaining developmentally appropriate learning environments that foster exploration, independence, and inclusive practices. Guide and monitor the implementation of curriculum with fidelity, ensuring alignment with both AVANCE Head Start Performance Standards and ISD instructional expectations. Work in collaboration with the ISD Principal and teaching staff to reliably implement child assessment systems, including: Understanding and analyzing child outcomes data Planning and individualizing instruction based on assessment results Oversee and approve the preparation of weekly lesson plans, ensuring: Individualization based on child needs and assessments Integration of goals from Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Ensure timely completion of all required screenings and assessments, including: 45-day and 90-day developmental screening requirements for new enrollees Monitor assessments for dually enrolled and non-collaboration children Ensure that classrooms, gross motor areas, and outdoor spaces are equipped with safe, high-quality, and developmentally appropriate materials. Support teachers in analyzing child outcome data and using findings to improve classroom practice and instructional quality. Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Early Learning and the Education Coach to ensure regular classroom observations and formal and informal feedback and coaching are given to promote AVANCE teacher professional growth, reflective practice, and continuous quality improvement. Partner with the ISD Principal to ensure all programmatic and educational elements align with school and district goals for early learning, including joint support for staff development and instructional excellence. Monitor and maintain safe and engaging learning environments, ensuring materials and equipment reflect the diverse ages, stages, and abilities of children served. Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with the ISD Principal, AVANCE Senior Director of Early Learning, Accessibility, and Mental Health and AVANCE Senior Director of Coaching and Leadership to ensure full and aligned implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices across both programs. Coordinate and collaborate with AVANCE leadership team to ensure the implementation of comprehensive program services to children and families served. Collaborate with the Family Advocate and ISD School Counselor to ensure high-quality, coordinated implementation of family services and parent engagement initiatives. Model and foster positive, respectful, and culturally responsive relationships with families, supporting a welcoming and inclusive school community. Provide guidance and oversight to Family Advocates to ensure effective delivery of all family engagement services, including support and monitoring of AVANCE’s Parent-Child and Education Program. Help coordinate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in partnership with the ISD Principal to support continuous instructional improvement and collaborative teacher learning. Ensure that families receive consistent and timely communication about their child’s progress, school events, and program updates, coordinated with the ISD Principal and school staff. Attend Board of Education meetings alongside the ISD Principal as needed to represent AVANCE, support partnership visibility, and engage in professional learning and advocacy. Ensure the identification and support of children’s individual needs related to health, nutrition, disabilities, or mental health by: Implementing the ISD’s referral and support processes Coordinating with AVANCE content specialists Participating in case conferences and individualized planning meetings Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of local community resources, especially those related to early childhood education and transitions into kindergarten. Participate in team meetings, home visits, ISD and community events to foster family engagement, professional collaboration, and community connection. Actively engage in the AVANCE–ISD community, including attending: Staff meetings Mandated trainings Committee meetings Program-wide functions and evening activities, as needed Represent AVANCE professionally at meetings, events, and training opportunities, promoting the mission and collaborative goals of the AVANCE–ISD partnership. Record Keeping and Reporting: Ensure complete and accurate implementation of all AVANCE’s required systems for recordkeeping and reporting, including: Individual child/family files Master binders Documentation of coaching for staff and strategies provided to teachers/providers/families In-kind contributions from parents or community members Purchasing and tracking of supplies and equipment Child, family & program information in GoEngage Child observations, assessment & planning information in CLI Submit annual performance evaluations in a timely manner. Ongoing Monitoring/Self-assessment Use the Paylocity OKRs to self-assess and set goals for continual growth as an Education Leader. Review weekly/quarterly program data reports and ensure all concerns are addressed in a timely fashion. Review bi-annual and annual child outcomes data and oversee teacher planning to help all children make developmental gains. Participate in annual program self-assessment Implement all monitoring systems required by AVANCE, Head Start, child care licensing, CACFP or other agencies, including: Daily visual check of indoor & outdoor safety. Monthly or quarterly completion of health & safety monitoring tool Serve on the leadership team of AVANCE’s affiliate program, attending regular meetings. Participate in annual and quarterly planning to set, plan for, and monitor program goals. Contribute to annual review and revision of the program's integrated service plan. Lead for the good of the entire organization, understand the big picture and use it as framework to make decisions Make decisions that support program quality and maintain program accountability. Establish focus for the education service area and act to align the area's goals with the strategic direction and needs of the ISD; ensure that employees in the area understand how their work relates to the collaboration with the ISD as a whole and the relevant regulations and performance standards. Improve quality and effectiveness of the education service area and overall organization by initiating, sponsoring and implementing organizational change and by helping others to successfully manage organizational change. Promote consistent exchange of information with the staff and a cooperative environment within the ISD Principal and ISD staff. Planning and Implementation: Provide direct supervision to all AVANCE all direct reports, including, teaching staff within the partnership program, including PK3 teachers, PK3 assistant teachers, Instructional Aides, family advocates, and substitutes. Serve as the AVANCE Education Leader for the partnership site, overseeing the full implementation of education services in collaboration with the ISD Principal. Ensure alignment with and adherence to all AVANCE and ISD education policies and procedures, Head Start Performance Standards, and best practices in early childhood education. Coordinate and support joint training efforts, ensuring that all new AVANCE hires participate in ISD-required training and receive additional onboarding and professional development specific to AVANCE and Head Start. Plan, conduct, and/or arrange ongoing training opportunities for AVANCE staff, volunteers, and families, as needed. Oversee and ensure completion of all human resources activities for AVANCE staff, including performance evaluations, goal setting, documentation, and adherence to personnel policies and procedures from both AVANCE and the ISD. Meet with each supervisee at least monthly to: Monitor progress and performance Provide verbal and written feedback aligned with their Professional Development Plan (PDP) if applicable. Plan and direct work in response to program goals and evolving needs Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and support their PDPs, ensuring plans are updated, documented, and supported by appropriate training opportunities. Lead efforts to review and assign work equitably, modeling best practices in instructional leadership and team collaboration. Ensure work methods and classroom operations are responsive to changing program needs while promoting efficiency and continuous improvement in collaboration with the ISD. Follow hiring practices, adhering to AVANCE recruitment and selection protocols, including those related to EEO and Head Start Policy Council involvement. Take or recommend disciplinary actions in accordance with AVANCE policies, ISD procedures, and Head Start Performance Standards (45 CFR 1304, Appendix A). Make appropriate personnel decisions within scope of authority and submit recommendations for higher-level approval as needed. Ensure safe, accessible, and developmentally appropriate classroom environments in collaboration with the ISD Principal, including: Age-appropriate and inclusive materials Curricular alignment of classroom layout and resources Accessibility under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act Conduct and/or supervise regular safety checks of facilities, documenting findings and ensuring timely resolution of concerns.
