Description

The Parts Manager Assistant supports the efficient daily operations of the dealership’s Parts Department under the direction of the Parts Manager. This role assists with ordering, inventory control, customer service, and departmental coordination to ensure smooth workflow and excellent service delivery. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, knowledgeable in automotive parts, and eager to learn and grow in a dealership environment.
The Parts Manager Assistant works closely with the Parts Manager to meet department goals, maintain accurate inventory, and provide timely support to both internal and external customers. They also contribute to fostering positive relationships with suppliers, service staff, and customers, while upholding the dealership’s standards and values.

INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE & COMPLIANCE

  • Stay updated on competitive products, pricing, and features.
  • Understand and comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations related to parts sales.
  • Assist with documentation for “Transportation of Dangerous Goods” compliance as required.

SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and basic technical/mechanical concepts.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using dealer management systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Attention to detail with ability to document accurately.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support common goals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in an automotive parts department or similar environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control and ordering processes.
  • Previous dealership experience is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license for the province of employment.
