Are you an experienced payroll professional passionate about making a difference?
We’re looking to recruit an Assistant Payroll Manager to join our friendly team. It’s an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a complex payroll process serving over 9,000 employees, with the chance to shape and improve our payroll systems and procedures.
About the Role:
As part of our Payroll Team, you’ll be responsible for managing monthly payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across a large and diverse organisation. You’ll work in a hybrid setting, based at our centrally located Howden office in Sheffield, with flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the monthly payroll cycle for 9,000+ employees, alongside our payroll team leader, administrators and controls team
  • Manage and resolve complex payroll issues with a proactive approach
  • Lead improvements in payroll systems and processes
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and pension regulations
  • Collaborate and work effectively across different teams and work streams
  • Support and develop team members, fostering a positive working environment
  • Meet tight deadlines and SLAs with precision and attention to detail
