DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Assist Payroll Manager with overseeing the processing of the weekly payroll, including, but not limited to, reviewing changes of status, processing new hires, reviewing, and committing the payroll to Human Resources Information System (HRIS) as part of a centralized payroll department. Provide backup to the Payroll Manager by reconciling accruals, monitor payroll taxes and field questions from Corporate Payroll Specialists as well as Plant Payroll and Plant HR.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: High School Degree or equivalent (GED); associate’s degree in accounting, business or HR preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Three to five years in a payroll-related position, preferably in a corporate setting. Experience working with Dayforce/Ceridian payroll system required.
CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: FPC or CPP preferred.

  • Able to use computers proficiently with strong competence in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel including pivot tables).

  • Possess the skills to manage time and multitask efficiently while maintaining legal compliance, as well as company pay policies in a detail-oriented work style.

  • Know how to apply basic accounting concepts and create journal entries and reconcile accruals.

  • Possess experience processing payroll taxes.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a cloud-based Payroll/HRIS to record, commit and analyze information.
  • Process employee change of status and new hire information.
  • Review timesheet information provided by the plants.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during the payroll process, including taxes, deductions, and garnishments.
  • Reconcile general ledger accrual accounts and make corrections when needed.
  • Work as a team with the other specialists to meet common goals/deadlines.
  • Field questions as they arise from upper management as well as Plant HR/Payroll and Corporate Payroll.
  • Monitor tax reports throughout the quarter and make corrections as needed.
  • Review and complete continuing training on Payroll/HRIS to trouble shoot and correct issues.
  • Cover Payroll Manager’s responsibilities when Payroll Manager is away from the office.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
  • Follow Cincinnati Beverage Co. safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
