Job Title: Assistant Payroll Manager
Location: North York – ONSITE
Industry: Retail
Salary: $90,000 -$100,000, plus excellent other benefits and perks
Our client is a national, established, respected and successful company with multiple retail locations throughout the Country.
Looking to add an experienced Assistant Payroll Manager to their HQ in North York. You will support the Payroll Manager and work with a team of administrators who oversee various client groups and a payroll process for 1500+ employees.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing the payroll team while implementing, maintaining, and reviewing all payroll processing systems.
  • Audit and Balance payroll prior to processing
  • Ensuring all payroll process is submitted before the deadline
  • Work with accounting to ensure accurate payroll transactions are recorded properly for salaries, garnishments, taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Lead, mentor and support a busy team of payroll administrators while working closely to support the Manager
  • Be a competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator; working closely with retail locations and other areas within the organization
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Assist with other payroll duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary education in Payroll or related field, CPM designation or in progress
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in payroll, with 2+ in a supervisory role
  • Multi-provincial payroll experience is required, preferably within the Retail industry
  • Experience ADP WorkForce Now is preferred
