Job Summary
The Assistant Planner supports the planning and scheduling functions within the manufacturing plant to ensure efficient production, optimal use of resources, and timely delivery of products. This role involves assisting in production planning, materials coordination, data analysis, and communication between departments to maintain smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in developing and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
· Support the preparation of material requirement plans based on sales forecasts, production capacity, and inventory levels.
· Monitor inventory of raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure availability and prevent shortages.
· Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to align schedules with material availability.
· Track work orders, production progress, and lead times, escalating potential delays or bottlenecks.
· Maintain accurate records of planning data, production reports, and scheduling changes.
· Assist in analyzing demand forecasts, sales orders, and customer requirements.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and supply chain processes.
· Communicate with suppliers, logistics, and internal departments regarding delivery schedules and changes.
· Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards in all planning activities.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· 1–3 years of experience in production planning, materials planning, or supply chain (internships or entry-level experience acceptable).
· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems with willingness to train on older systems and a high level Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency required).
· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Good communication and teamwork abilities.
· Knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean principles is an advantage.
