At Waagner Biro, we are committed to achieving the extraordinary in every project. 🌐 Learn more: www.waagnerbiro-bridgesystems.com Job Description We are looking for a qualified and experienced Assistant Planning Engineer to manage the planning and scheduling activities based in our head office in Dubai and is expected to have one weekly progress meeting, which requires a visit to the site in Dubai. The ideal candidate must be a Civil Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in bridge or infrastructure projects. The Assistant Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing project schedules, tracking progress, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery in compliance with client and authority requirements. Key Responsibilities Preparing, developing and maintaining project schedules using specialised Primavera P6 software, including KPI, Full Narrative Report, Detailed resource and cost-loaded POWs. Preparing an extension of time requires several techniques; Window analysis skills are mandatory. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to gather and analyse project data Help create and update project timelines, Gantt charts, and other planning documents Support resource allocation and optimisation efforts for ongoing projects Participate in progress meetings and contribute to project status reports Assist in identifying potential scheduling conflicts and proposing solutions Help monitor project milestones and deadlines to ensure timely completion Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes and methodologies Stay updated on local building codes and regulations in Dubai and the UAE UAE National Only Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in planning. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and infrastructure project workflows. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 ,ETC Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Familiarity with construction processes, methodologies, and industry standards Understanding of project scheduling techniques and resource allocation principles Basic knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Dubai and the UAE Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies Additional Information Advance level in Primavera skills Working time: 8am to 5pm & 6 days per week Business Line: Consulting and Operations Type of contract: Permanent contract Service Line: OnM Operations Region: Middle East and South Asia Job Family: Project Planning Profession: Project Planning Analyst I
