Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations at our seafood processing facility. You’ll work closely with the Plant Manager and production team to maintain high-quality standards, optimize workflows, and lead production staff to meet business objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring proven seafood processing experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

· Support the Plant Manager and work closely with the Production Manager in overseeing daily production activities, ensuring operational efficiency and quality control.
· Plan and coordinate production schedules, balancing material availability and labor requirements.
· Optimize plant equipment and workforce utilization to increase production capacity and reduce costs.
· Collect, maintain, and analyze production data to improve efficiency and inform decision-making.
· Maintain high-quality standards while developing and implementing new processing procedures.
· Assist with logistics for all incoming and outgoing products to ensure smooth operations.
· Train, develop and collaborate with plant staff to build a strong and capable team.
· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and implement best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
· Troubleshoot operational challenges, proactively addressing issues to minimize downtime.
· Assist as needed by operating our forklifts both inside and outside our production and cold storage areas.
