Assistant Policy Officer Exciting opportunity to join Liquor and Gaming NSW, we're responsible for regulating liquor, wagering, gaming, and registered clubs in NSW This is a Clerk Grade 5/6 role with a salary range of $99,938 - $110,271 per annum plus superannuation Ongoing and temporary roles based in Sydney, NSW - Hybrid working arrangements may be available within business operational needs About Liquor & Gaming NSW We are at the pointy end of industry supervision for the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino and registered club sectors in NSW. About The Role The Regulatory Policy Branch in Liquor & Gaming NSW contributes to the development of liquor and gaming policy and delivering government reform priorities, including legislative reform projects. As an Assistant Policy Officer you will: Conduct research, consultation and analysis to support the development and implementation of policy and legislative reform Prepare clear, evidence-based advice, reports, and correspondence for senior executives and ministers. Consult with internal and external stakeholders to ensure policy reflects customer needs and operational realities. Contribute to the review of legislation, frameworks, and programs to identify improvement opportunities. Essential Requirements Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience. Appointment and ongoing assignment are subject to satisfactorily meeting pre-employment and ongoing probity screening to meet the integrity standards set out in section 14 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007. About You This role would suit a capable and motivated individual with strong analytical and drafting skills, sound judgement, and the ability to research issues and prepare clear advice. You will also be comfortable working across a range of matters, managing competing priorities, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the development and implementation of policy initiatives.
