ASSISTANT POLICY OFFICER

  • Temporary Full-Time up to 12 April 2026
  • Located in Eveleigh with flexible working arrangements available
  • Competitive salary of $99,938 pa to $110,271 pa plus superannuation and leave loading
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Policy Officer role undertakes a range of research, analysis and administrative activities, contributing to the development of policies and related projects that support agency and/or government commitments.
Core role functions include supporting policy development, managing Cabinet related matters, preparing draft briefings, papers and minutes, and supporting the delivery of strategic projects and organisational performance improvement initiatives.
We are seeking applications from potential candidates with an interest in supporting research and learning about key policy issues, with demonstrated experience supporting team administration and project management style tasks.
The role itself sits within the Policy and Business Strategy (PBS) team in the School Infrastructure division.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience, preferably gained through the completion of a business related tertiary qualification and supplemented by practical experience in a diverse and complex operating environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
