We’re looking for a highly driven Assistant to join our small team and help with the following projects: (a) live events and collaborations, (b) our lit mag, VOLUME 0 (volume0.com), (c) international and literary books, and (d) various projects in development. This is a demanding role that includes marketing, PR, editorial, and operations work. You have to have a “willing to help with anything” attitude and a “get it done” work ethic. It is more important that you want to help the team succeed than to have a specific project or function you want to pursue. What You’ll Do PR, Operations & Other Help plan and staff parties and events. Maintain subscriber trackers, facilitate mailings and renewals Handle customer service emails Help with correspondence, scheduling and other tasks and processes Work on new initiatives Editorial Maintain pipelines. Read and evaluate stories and books. Identify potential contributors, stories, books and imprints. Proofread individual stories and full issues. QA digital and physical proofs of the magazine and related products. Attend readings and other literary events. Marketing Maintain websites and social media feeds Create content and set up paid campaigns Staff tables at book fairs. Other initiatives About You Super strong “get it done” mentality Demonstrated writing/editing abilities Other creative skills are a plus (photography, graphic design, web design, etc.) You participate in the literary and other cultural scenes Strong problem solving abilities and reasonable math skills Willing to work outside of normal business hours 1-3 years of some type of challenging professional experience Base Salary: $65,000
