The primary responsibility consists of offloading Printing roll stocks and requesting stock for the next job.    SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY: * Directly responsible for the operation of the rewind stand (front end of the Machine). * When unloading the printed roll, pull a sample and check print quality against the approved sample. * Ensure that there are plenty of clean cores available for new splices when the press begins running  * Responsible for setting the board edge guides for the correct width of board to be run, this includes the edge guide going to the drum as well as the one leading into the re-wind stand   * Keeps rolls mounted during the run as well as setting up the automatic butt splice to ensure that the press continues to run uninterrupted  * Assist with daily maintenance as directed * Assist Second Press Operator with cleaning and inspecting all gears and roller bearings, laying them out to dry, and then placing in the gear rack  * Clean anilox rolls as they are removed from the press before placing them in the cart. * Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation * Effectively utilizes downtime (not including approved breaks) by assisting with set-up or performing other tasks associated with maintaining a clean work environment or as otherwise instructed by a supervisor * Communicates with other team members   * Wears appropriate PPE for the task and the area. * Welcomes updates and improvements to processes and follows new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation * Performs work in a manner that keeps down time to a minimum * Maintains a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S systems * Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Use situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions * May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments * Performs other duties as assigned    AUTHORITY: The Operator must have the ability to perform Second Press operator duties when needed to execute the demands of the printing operation efficiently and to respond to oral instructions from his/her supervisor and other written instructions.   QUALIFICATIONS:     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software. Must have mechanical ability and skills.   LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
