POSITION INFORMATION

Auburn Public School is a large primary school established in 1886, located on a split site diagonally across a major intersection in Sydney’s mid-western suburbs. The school caters for a diverse community, evident in the cultural backgrounds of students who attend the school. With a current enrolment of 500 students, 98% of students are bi-lingual and speak English as a second language. The school provides high quality educational programs with a strong emphasis on Literacy, Numeracy, Student Wellbeing and Technology. Extra-curricular opportunities are provided in Creative and Performing Arts, Technology and Sport. There are 4 classes to support students with additional needs, and the school provides community language programs in Arabic, Turkish, Chinese, Dari and Urdu.
Auburn Public School aims to develop resilient students who embrace challenge, adapt to change and take personal responsibility to strive for excellence. Learning programs are differentiated with high impact professional learning on evidence informed research to deepen pedagogical understanding of effective classroom practice. We demonstrate a commitment to high expectations in identifying, understanding and implementing the most effective, challenging and explicit teaching methods. We strategically use assessment data including how to analyse, interpret and extrapolate data to inform planning that enhances our effectiveness in improving all student learning outcomes.
