COMPENSATION: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise conduct within the school, and oversee disciplinary procedures, keeping records of any disciplinary action.
  • Work with the Principal in the preparation of the student handbook.
  • Propose schedules of classes and extracurricular activities.
  • Give individual and group guidance for personal problems, educational and vocational objectives, and social and recreational activities.
  • Supervise the preparation of student schedules.
  • Cooperate in the conducting of safety inspections and safety fire drill activities.
  • Supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up action.
  • Serve with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
  • Monitor and confirm safety and security in the building and property.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Massachusetts State Department of Educational Principal / Assistant Principal Licensure.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents, regulatory agencies, or members of the community.
  • Ability to write reports, speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or School Committee.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to use data as tools to identify barriers to success, and design strategies for improvement.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking of a wide range of intellectual and practical situations.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, graphs, etc.).
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient with personal computers and relevant software such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
