Description

POSITION INFORMATION

Lawrence Hargrave School is a School for Specific Purposes (SSP) located in South-Western Sydney. We cater to students in Years 7–12 who present with mild intellectual disabilities, complex behaviours, and diagnosed mental health conditions. With enrolments capped at 63, we provide a highly individualised and trauma-informed learning environment where students feel safe, understood, and supported to thrive.
Our student population reflects a rich and complex diversity. Around 50% of our students identify as Aboriginal, 15% are in Out of Home Care (OoHC), and 22% are learners who require English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) support. Our Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) of 188 highlights the significant socio-economic challenges faced by many of our students and their families.
At Lawrence Hargrave, we focus on strong relationships, high expectations, and tailored support to help every student build their capacity, connect with their learning, and find meaningful post-school pathways.
