Our client, an independent family-owned business and a trusted supplier of premium fresh produce to major supermarkets, is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Production Manager to join their team and help drive their mission forward.
Our client are seeking a committed and positive individual, ideally with previous experience working within a production environment and knowledge of production processes. Experience within FMCG/food manufacturing is desirable. You will possess a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, have excellent problem-solving skills and be well organised and results orientated. Fluency in English, both verbal and written is essential together with good numerical ability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a managerial or supervisory role, ideally within the food import/export industry
  • Strong understanding of production operations, quality control, and transport logistics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with inventory management systems is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Production Manager in day-to-day operations, including transport coordination, inventory management, and quality control
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and quality of grapes
  • Monitor and oversee production processes to maintain product integrity
  • Lead and support a team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback
  • Handle inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage production planning to align with delivery schedules and quality standards
  • Prepare production reports for the sales team
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including Health & Safety and food safety standards
