POSITION SUMMARY

This position will directly report to and assist the production manager in the day-to-day operations at Fisher Athletic. Manage all daily functions associated with the customer service, production, quality control, planning, and record keeping. Help to coordinate with management, department leads, customer service and purchasing to ensure all orders are being produced and shipped on time. Monitor and oversee reports to ensure all production goals and KPI’s are met and notifying senior management of any issues.

ASSISTANT PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Proven experience as a production supervisor in manufacturing
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulation
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics
  • Proficient in MS Office suite experience and Visual manufacturing or other form of ERP system
  • Excellent ability to communicate via written or oral, interface with peers and customer representatives
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making abilities
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Being friendly and available to all employees
  • The ability to work in a varied environment (cold, hot, dry,)
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced work environment

Responsibilities
  • Work with production manager to develop and execute short- and long-term goals for employees and departments
  • Prioritize and leverage resources available to include employees and inventory, resolve issues related to the needs and constraints of each to help minimize costs, down time, maximize quality and ensure ship dates are met
  • Monitor production floor
  • Be aware of all shipping and project deadlines and work diligently to ensure on time completion
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily functions of each department and keep senior management aware of any issues within each department
  • Provide Technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers and exercising independent judgment successfully
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and focus on lean manufacturing, safety, quality, cost, productivity and delivery
  • Help employees with problem solving, adjustments, and machine setups and training to ensure all employees are operating their machines and work areas safely and efficiently, while effectively practicing 6S methods to ensure all work areas are neat and orderly.
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance as needed
  • Inspect job orders for completeness and accuracy, maintain and correct jobs, work orders and records were applicable
  • Create a positive atmosphere by treating employees with dignity, respect and soliciting their involvement in problem solving
  • Hire, train and drive the corrective action process to ensure the short-term issues are fixed as well as drive long term systemic improvement. (holding people accountable)
  • Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and strategic business plans.
  • Have clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to them
