Description of Position
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Assistant Production Supervisor will oversee the entire production area, quality of product and safety of all employees in accordance with all Good Manufacturing Practices.

Essential duties and responsibilities of the Position

  • Mentor/Coach Production Team Leaders
  • Monitor tablets with production run data daily (ensure accuracy of product run times)
  • Communicate with Production Supervisor/ Superintendent on staffing.
  • Monitor production area, ensure efficiencies are met.
  • Act as the production line expert – from raw materials to finished goods.
  • Monitor daily production schedule (balance production as needed)
  • Ensure daily Production & Shipping times are met.
  • Work with Production Supervisor/ Superintendent to identify areas of improvement in the production area.
  • Assist with training of new employees (clocking in & out on tablet).
  • Work with the procurement department to locate materials as needed.
  • Monitor attendance, breaks, and adjust staffing levels to meet production goals.
  • Update/Post daily staffing schedule
  • Adheres to and complies with all food safety, food quality and GMP policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education
Four-year college or two-year technical degree preferred or four years of high school with 1-2 years’ manufacturing experience. Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to communicate (read, write, and interpret) in English. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals. Willingness to learn and use complex formulations to interpret data reports.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with ability to interact with multiple programs/applications. Ability to successfully navigate and troubleshoot internal systems when necessary.
