Assistant Professor – General Business / KNEE Center for Regulatory Research John Chambers College of Business & Economics West Virginia University – Morgantown, WV The Department of General Business at the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University, invites applications for an Assistant Professor position. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefits-eligible, tenure-track appointment with an anticipated start date in January 2026. The position includes dedicated service to the KNEE Center for Regulatory Research. Primary Responsibilities Teaching (60%25) Teach six three-credit courses per academic year (undergraduate and/or graduate), in both in-person and online formats, within the General Business Department, including but not limited to teaching in the Master of Business Administration programs (MBA, OMBA, HMBA), undergraduate or doctoral programs as needed. Utilize experiential learning techniques to enhance student engagement and academic success. Support curriculum development and academic innovation across General Business program offerings. Research (10%25) Engage in scholarly activities aligned with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) standards. Contribute to the academic community through peer-reviewed publications and participation in academic conferences. Foster research that supports and complements the teaching mission of the department. Service (30%25) Actively contribute to the mission of the KNEE Center for Regulatory Research through regulatory-focused service and academic outreach. Participate in departmental, college, and university service initiatives. Support student recruitment, retention, and placement efforts, as well as program development and industry engagement. A Ph.D. in, Business, Economics, or a closely related field is required by the time of appointment. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a record of scholarly publication are strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to student success, programmatic development, and academic service.
