The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a Full-time, Economics/Finance Assistant Professor position in the Business Department beginning September 1, 2026. This position is focused on Economics and Finance to meet the needs of an ever-changing global economic landscape.
Salary: $65,000 – $70,000

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in Economics or Finance or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three or more years of teaching at the college level.
  • Managerial experience working in corporate finance or economic setting.
  • Experience working in or with a Financial Trading Lab in an academic setting.
  • Experience mentoring people in the field of finance and/or economics.
  • Experience building relationships with corporate and industry partners.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering and developing a variety of Economics and Finance (and other business) courses in the face-to-face, online, and hybrid (flex) formats.
  • Advising students enrolled in the Business Department majors, guiding them through their academic and career pathways.
  • Contributing to the strategic initiatives of the Business Department.
  • Actively participating in faculty governance and other university service activities.
  • Engaging with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and community organizations to create partnerships that benefit students and enhance their learning experiences.
