Position Summary: Johnson County Community College is searching to fill a full-time faculty position in English (with emphases listed below). JCCC is in Overland Park, KS, the second largest city in the state of Kansas and part of the greater Kansas City Metro. JCCC is dedicated to maintaining a rich cultural community, with an award-winning contemporary art museum and center for the performing arts located on campus. JCCC is looking for a diverse pool of applicants for this full-time faculty position. Full-time faculty in English work to strike a balance between teaching and research and have strong professional connections with regional and national composition, rhetoric, and literature professional organizations. Many of our 18,000 students are nontraditional, military veterans, immigrants, international, and first-generation college students. The successful candidate for this job will teach the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester in composition, with the potential to teach literature courses. The successful candidate will perform other duties expected of full-time faculty, including maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; participating in department, division, and college meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments could be a combination of online, hybrid, and face-to-face classes and are subject to change as assigned.
