Augustana University invites applications for the position of full-time Assistant Professor in Behavior Analysis.

DEPARTMENT: APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS PROGRAM WITHIN THE SHARON LUST SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The School of Education at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Behavior Analysis beginning in August 2025. This faculty member will become a member of the faculty in the Applied Behavior Analysis program within the Sharon Lust School of Education. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications for this position include an earned doctorate in behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or a closely related field and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field of behavior analysis. It will also be important for this faculty to hold current Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst at the Doctoral level (BCBA-D) and either hold a current license in South Dakota, or express willingness to seek that prior to the start date. Other important qualifications include: experience, commitment, and excellence in teaching and mentorship; willingness to conduct research in the field; vision, energy, and creativity for contributing to building and maintaining a high-quality master’s program in Applied Behavior Analysis. Candidates with prior experience in online instruction in higher education are preferred.

Responsibilities

This faculty member will be responsible for teaching asynchronous online courses in our Master of Science: Applied Behavior Analysis program (teaching load of five to six courses per year). Successful applicants will demonstrate strong commitment to student-centered teaching excellence within the context of the liberal arts.
The Applied Behavior Analysis program consists of ABAI Verified Course Sequences aligned with concurrently-offered fieldwork experience courses. In addition to teaching courses, this faculty member would have responsibilities in advising, online supervision of ABA fieldwork experiences, and oversight of single-case design research projects in the ABA program, as well as service and professional development expectations.
