ABOUT THE ROLE
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Professor in Transport, and is looking for a highly able, enthusiastic and well-motivated individual wishing to develop a career in a world leading teaching and research institution.
The Department has an outstanding international reputation and has been awarded the top rating in every national review of university research held since 1986. The successful candidates will join the Centre for Transport Engineering and Modelling, which hosts the state-of the-art Intelligent Infrastructure and Transport Systems Laboratory, equipped with cutting-edge technology that supports research in autonomous transport, decarbonisation, machine learning, travel behaviour, air transport management, and transport risk & safety, and navigation & positioning.
We welcome applications from outstanding candidates working in established areas of transport such as: engineering, operations, modelling, design, flow & control, economics & econometrics, autonomous systems, logistics, environment & climate change, and planning & policy; but also in newer and emerging areas, including but not limited to; analytics, data science, artificial intelligence, inclusive planning & design, public health, technological innovation, behavioural science, and social justice & inclusion.
The post is full time and open-ended.
