Shri Vile Parle Kelvani Mandal’s (SVKM’s) Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic (SBMP) situated in Vile Parle(west), is one of the premier Polytechnic in Maharashtra which is known for providing quality technical education at Diploma level and running continuing educational as well as training programs for working professionals. The institute is a grant-in-aid autonomous institution managed by the duly constituted Managing Council of SVKM and it is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). This institute established in 1963, has completed fifty-seven years in the field of technical education and training with the achievement of many milestones. Shri Bhagubahi Mafatlal Polytechnic started with three diploma courses for more than 5 decades. With the backing from our experience and milestones our core strengths are now reflected in Implant Training for all the students of aided courses, Strong Industry Institute Interaction, Multi Point Entry Credit System, Academic Autonomy, Active Alumni Association, Community Development through Polytechnic Scheme, State of Art Instructional and Infrastructural Facilities among many more. SVKM’s S.B.M. Polytechnic is a Linguistic Minority Institute and thus 50% of the seats are reserved for Gujarati Linguistic Minority Students. Over the years the Polytechnic has become a premier and prestigious institute through its commitment to discipline and high standard of performance. The institute has become a center of excellence and its name and fame is based on its continuous legacy of providing high quality, need based and skill based programmes in nine disciplines of technical education at Diploma level with the state-of-art infrastructure, good practices, innovative teaching pedagogies and policies. The strong alumni association supports the institute in placement of students for inplant training of six months, in curriculum development, to keep pace with technology. Today, this lead institute is offering total ten full time diploma engineering programs(Seven Aided programmes) of three years duration with six months of Inplant training in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Plastics, Chemical, Industrial Electronics, Digital Electronics and (Three Unaided programmes), Computer engineering Information Technology and Data Science(Praposed). The Polytechnic besides blessed with vibrant and visionary SVKM management, is duly networked with both state and central government bodies like DTE, MSBTE, BOAT and AICTE and is having organic links with industry.
