Applications will be considered until the position has been filled. The beautiful campus of Benedictine College is situated in picturesque Atchison, KS on the bluffs above the Missouri River. Atchison is within an hour of major cities such as Kansas City, Saint Joseph, Lawrence and Topeka as well as 35 minutes from the Kansas City International Airport. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The successful applicant will be able to teach Latin and Greek at all levels, and will also be comfortable teaching one or more courses in Benedictine’s great books program. Our department offers multiple advanced Latin classes and an advanced Greek class every semester; the ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about helping to grow our catalogue of Classics course offerings within the traditional bounds of the discipline as well as in late antique and medieval authors and texts. Our Latin program combines a rigorous analytical approach, with a strong component of the natural method and active spoken Latin. Additional qualifications: demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, service, and engagement in the life of the college. Experience in spoken Latin and active language-use pedagogy.
