The School of Nursing offers nationally accredited baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degree programs. One of a small number of nursing schools to be designated as an Apple Distinguished School and endorsed by International Nursing Association for Clinical and Simulation Learning (INACSL), the University of Rochester School of Nursing prepares nurses to meet the challenges of healthcare in the twenty-first century.
The Unification Model directs nursing education, research, and practice. Unification is not only a philosophical approach but also an organizational structure that operationalizes the interdependence among education, research and practice. Education empowers nurses with knowledge, attitudes, and skills for leadership in professional practice and research. Research develops nursing knowledge to strengthen education and promote evidence-based practice. The practice of nursing is care delivery that promotes continued excellence through the generation of new research questions and the enrichment of the educational experience. The ongoing interaction of education, research, and practice advances the discipline of nursing and the health of our nation.
Faculty teaching in the Undergraduate and Graduate programs are passionate about developing the next generation of advanced practice clinicians and leaders and excited to embrace the most relevant technologies, approaches, and knowledge to meet evolving needs. As part of a collaborative team, our faculty provide best-practice instruction that aligns with the overarching curriculum objectives, program goals, and professional standards, and with the understanding that students benefit from multi-modal yet cohesive educational design.
