Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant or Associate Professor to teach a graduate-level course in Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide range of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Computer Science or directly related fields and a specialty in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning or related fields
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A commitment to student success and the ability to motivate and inspire students to learn.
  • All academic degrees earned in the U.S. shall have been awarded by regionally accredited institutions, and faculty shall provide documentation thereof. For faculty whose degrees are earned abroad, official transcripts must be submitted to and evaluated by the appropriate academic unit
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare and deliver graduate-level courses in computer science and artificial intelligence based on the course learning outcomes and syllabus
  • Teach students the concepts of Machine Learning and how it integrates into other disciplines
  • Develop and deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their assignments and assessments
  • Advise and mentor students on research projects related to Artificial Intelligence
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI and incorporate them into the course material
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to make revisions to the Analytics course in order to maintain relevancy and continue improving it
  • Graduate level courses typically meet one evening per week for nine weeks.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be expected to

  • Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Teach day classes, evening, and online classes
  • Work with adjunct faculty
  • Assist with curriculum development
  • Assist the department with the academic program and assessment
  • Participate in appropriate professional development (Boyer Model)
  • Maintain competence in the field by staying current with new and emerging theory, applications and teaching approaches
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed
