ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ECONOMICS- MERRILEE ALEXANDER KICK COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The Merrilee Alexander Kick (MAK) College of Business & Entrepreneurship is searching for an Assistant Professor in Economics beginning Fall 2026. Successful applicants for Assistant Professor (tenure-track) will possess an earned doctorate in Economics or a related discipline. ABD candidates near completion will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a core faculty member in the Department of Accounting and Finance, primarily based on the Denton campus, with the possibility of teaching on the Dallas or Houston campuses as needed.
  • Teach primarily Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics at the undergraduate level, with the possibility of occasionally teaching upper-level undergraduate or graduate courses in the discipline.
  • Be able to teach in online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats
  • Participate in department, university, and professional service
  • Maintain a strong research agenda, publishing scholarly work, and adhering to the College Faculty Qualifications and Engagement Policy for AACSB accreditation
  • Support the University’s outreach by teaching dual credit Economics courses on an as needed basis to high school students in collaboration with local ISDs, on an as needed basis
