Responsibilities
  • Teach graduate-level courses in educational leadership with an emphasis on real-world applications in the PK-12 setting.
  • Mentor and advise graduate students pursuing careers in educational leadership, preparing them for roles in school leadership, policy, and district-level administration.
  • Conduct and publish original research in educational leadership.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the curriculum and ensure alignment with current trends in educational leadership and best practices.
  • Contribute to departmental and university-wide service, including committee work, recruitment, and outreach.
  • Engage with local schools, districts, and community organizations to strengthen Longwood’s impact and foster partnerships that benefit students and the broader educational community.
  • Serve as graduate program director for the Master of Science in Education, Concentration in Educational Leadership program (a two-year term, eligible for reappointment by the deans of the College of Education, Health, and Human Services and the College of Graduate and Professional Studies, based on a recommendation of the department chair).
