The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine. The Department of Computer Science (DCS) investigates and contributes to shaping the interface between information and communication technology and society. DCS promotes interdisciplinary research and closely cooperates with other high-profile research centres in Luxembourg and beyond, as well as with industry and society. The faculty entertains various successful and growing teaching programmes and supports lifelong learning activities.

To strengthen and diversify the existing skills and expertise in the Department of Computer Science, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop and perform research in Computer Science and establish a research group
  • Seek cooperation with researchers within the department and across faculties, centres, and external research institutions in Luxembourg
  • Contribute to the teaching missions of the department at various levels (Bachelor, Master, PhD) and provide lectures for bachelor and master programmes
  • Advise PhD candidates and contribute to doctoral and postdoctoral training (e.g., organising research seminars, reading groups, winter and summer schools
