The Department of Computer Science (DCS) investigates and contributes to shaping the information and communication technology-society interface. DCS promotes interdisciplinary research and closely cooperates with other high-profile research centers in Luxembourg and beyond, as well as with industry and society. The faculty entertains various successful and growing teaching programs and supports lifelong learning activities. The Department of Computer Science (DCS) headed by Prof. Dr. Jean-Sébastien Coron (jean-sebastien.coron@uni.lu), is opening an Assistant / Associate Professor (depending on qualifications) position in Artificial Intelligence.

To strengthen and diversify the existing skills and expertise in the Department of Computer Science, the candidate is expected to:

  • Develop and perform research in artificial intelligence and establish a research group. The position is open to candidates from a broad range of AI subfields, including, but not limited to machine learning, generative AI, computer vision, representation and reasoning, natural language processing, neurosymbolic AI, artificial general intelligence, human-centered AI, or AI for science
  • Seek cooperation with researchers within the department and across the university, as well as with other research institutions relevant for Luxembourg
  • Contribute to the teaching mission of the department at various levels (Bachelor, Master, PhD)
  • Provide lectures in Artificial Intelligence
  • Advise PhD candidates and contribute to doctoral and postdoctoral training (e.g., organizing research seminars, reading groups, summer schools
