Position Description:
The School of Nursing in the College of Science and Health at DePaul University seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The BSN program was established in 2021. This position provides a 10-month appointment with a start date of September 1, 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field is required
  • Equivalent of two years of clinical experience is required
  • Licensed as an RN to practice in the state of Illinois or eligibility for same with application in process is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in teaching BSN students preferred
  • Experience in pediatrics and/or med-surg preferred
  • Proven scholarship and publication preferred

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University’s Mission in Catholic and Vincentian higher education
  • Providing didactic and clinical instruction of nursing students primarily in the BSN program
  • Engaging in course development, updating and submission of course syllabi in required format, assessment of student outcomes, research and development of resources for instruction, and utilization and development of instructional design methods that include technology
  • Serving as lead faculty for main courses and mentor adjunct faculty
  • Maintaining active and productive scholarship, including a research agenda and dissemination
  • Advising undergraduate students
  • Serving on school and college committees
  • Demonstrating leadership at the school and/or college level
    DePaul’s School of Nursing offers BSN, Master’s Entry into Nursing Practice, MSN-specialty, RNMSN (online), DNP, and Nurse Practitioner tracks and certificates. Nursing Programs emphasize community engagement, service learning in vulnerable communities, social justice and excellent safe quality nursing care. Students are in clinical sites at over 50 health care institutions.
