REQUIREMENTS

  • Required qualifications: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists (ACVM), or residency trained in Veterinary Parasitology.
  • Preferred qualifications: Ph.D.
  • Five (5) years of clinical and/or teaching experience in veterinary medicine.
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching and research in specialty area.
  • Tracked record of scholarly activity, including publications and successful grant applications.
  • Commitment to student-centered education and innovative teaching practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage in interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

DESCRIPTION

  • Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, laboratories, and seminars in Veterinary Parasitology.
  • Mentor and advise veterinary students, guiding their academic and professional development.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to design and implement an integrated, competency-based curriculum.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum through active participation in departmental and college-wide committees.
  • Comply with the policies, manuals, academic procedures, and executive orders that apply to the teaching staff of the program.
  • Comply with the actions established in the licensing and accreditation plan according to the academic offering of the academic program.
  • Establish and maintain a productive research program that contributes to the advancement of knowledge in your field. Publish research findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate actively in departmental, college, and university service activities, including committee work and student advising.
