ABOUT THE TEAM

The Assistant Project Officer role sits within a high-performing and agile project team within Program Design and Delivery. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced candidate to provide support to a range of workforce programs and initiatives designed to attract and retain teachers, ultimately enhancing student outcomes. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing strategies outlined in the Plan for Public Education, emphasising the importance of teacher supply, professional development, and elevating the teaching profession.

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Program Officer supports the delivery and implementation of workforce initiatives and programs. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise to the Department of Education and join a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about public education and committed to delivering the Plan for NSW Public Education.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have relevant experience in providing administrative assistance to support teams’ projects.
  • Demonstrate experience in conducting basic research and analysis of project data and assist in translating it into actionable insights.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders by responding to routine enquiries.
  • Create and maintain project records.
  • Be highly organised with the ability to tackle multiple competing priorities.
  • Have experience supporting the preparation of project briefs and related documentation.
