We are seeking a Building Assistant Project Manager that will assist and work under supervision on tasks required to support the Building Lead delivery of the Building, project and contract scope for HPC.
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will demonstrate the strongest direction of all activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of the work tasks assigned. Reporting directly to the Building lead you will be accountable for ensuring delivery of all construction activities with direct interfaces with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and handover activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule.
About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assist to deliver project scope on behalf of MEH alliance
  • Liaise and interface with the other key teams within the project on specifictasks.
  • Support meetings and report inputs
  • Have an awareness to develop, implement and provide ongoing supporttowards the use of management systems which will support delivery andquality of the outputs from the Building construction team Project ControlsDepartment, including planning, organising works and adhering to requireddocument control processes.
  • Support the Building Lead in delivering project management functions of the technical work streams to help ensure they are completed on time and on budget, supporting the management of commercial and technical Work through all phases of the project
  • Assist the Building Lead with daily, monthly and quarterly planning and reporting tasks and functions
  • Provide support to ‘day to day’ building delivery and operations ensuring work can be delivered safely to the correct quality requirements and on time and budget

Who we’re looking for

  • Academic or professional qualifications
  • You’ll be a highly skilled professional with strong communication and peoplemanagement abilities.
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling youto present effectively and engage with senior management.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills are essential, as this roleinvolves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, both internally andexternally.

A logical and analytical mindset, with experience in budget analysis and forecasting.

- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is crucial, along with a keen eye for detail and the capability to work independently with precision. Thisrole requires a proactive approach, ensuring tasks are completed to a highstandard while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to gain a security clearance.
