JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (Electrical) to support and help manage all aspects of electrical construction projects. This role provides administrative and on-site support to ensure timely and profitable completion of work. Responsibilities include coordination of labor, materials, schedules, subcontractors, and documentation along with managing timecards and assisting with payroll tracking.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, local building codes) is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprint is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and overseeing the full project lifecycle, from procurement through closeout.
  • Support field teams and foremen with daily needs, resource planning, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate and track project schedules, budgets, labor hours, and change orders.
  • Monitor material orders and deliveries, and verify quantities and specs match the plans.
  • Maintain and organize project documents, including RFIs, submittals, as-builts, drawings, and logs.
  • Track and process field timecards daily or weekly; review for accuracy, job codes, cost codes, and hours worked.
  • Assist with payroll submission and reconciliation with the payroll department.
  • Verify labor tracking against budgeted hours and highlight variances to project management.
  • Conduct regular job site visits to monitor progress, safety, and compliance with electrical codes (NEC, local).
  • Assist in ensuring safety protocols are followed and job sites meet OSHA standards.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports, meeting minutes, and job progress updates.
  • Support project billing, invoicing, lien releases, and closeout documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate with general contractors, vendors, inspectors, utility companies, and clients.
  • Help manage subcontractors and ensure their work is aligned with scope and schedule.
  • Identify and report potential issues, risks, or delays to the President promptly.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are tracked and accounted for on each job.
