Equity Staffing Group is hiring for an Assistant Project Manager in Detroit, MI. Our client is a globally recognized leader in engineering, architecture, construction, and consulting. This is a fully in person role (no remote opportunity)
Pay is $39-$50/hr DOQ

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering or construction management and will have 6-8 years of experience.
  • Having substation/utility electrical experience is required.
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. and 3 years relevant construction experience Required or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
  • Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Multiple years of experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, transportation, or water is preferred.
  • A basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Must be able to meet the company’s driving requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Support a variety of EPC projects involving overhead transmission lines, air-insulated substations, and switchyards
  • Serve as a key communicator with excellent written and verbal skills to coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead project teams by self-starting and adapting to changing project conditions to drive solutions
  • Follow and enforce client-specific processes and procedures related to:
  • Budget authorizations and management
  • Scope awards and changes
  • Outage coordination
  • Labor utilization
  • Coordinate design efforts including:
  • Design constructability reviews
  • Field construction support
  • Manage RFP processes for materials, equipment, and subcontractors, including:
  • Soliciting and evaluating proposals
  • Supporting vendor onboarding
  • Ongoing coordination through project lifecycle
  • Based in Southfield, MI (Detroit area)
  • Travel required to project sites across the Upper Midwest
