Job Description

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the end-to-end delivery of major building and infrastructure projects more specifically the delivery of our new Brisbane CBD (Treasury) campus. In this role, you’ll play a key part in coordinating activities across the full project lifecycle – from development to delivery and post-construction support.
Working with a high degree of autonomy, you’ll manage project documentation (including contracts), facilitate stakeholder communication, assist with budgeting and quality control, and ensure ongoing compliance with the Building Code of Australia and other statutory requirements. As the first point of control in the execution of building developments, you’ll help keep projects on track and aligned with university standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level administrative and coordination support to ensure smooth project delivery across all construction phases.
  • Prepare and deliver project updates, milestone reports, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate procurement activities in line with approved project plans.
  • Act as a key liaison between stakeholders, design teams, contractors, and authorities to support project planning, approvals, and delivery.
  • Oversee construction progress, ensuring timely delivery of required documentation such as warranties, manuals, and as-built plans.
  • Support post-construction reviews, manage the defect period, and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and health and safety standards.
