Description We are seeking a proactive Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of modular construction projects. This role is vital to ensuring projects meet quality, schedule, and budget goals while advancing our mission to deliver sustainable, affordable housing through advanced manufacturing techniques. Key Responsibilities Project Support & Coordination Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and scopes for modular housing units, ensuring alignment with client expectations and production schedules. Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Production teams to resolve constructability issues during design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews. Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other critical project documentation to maintain compliance with IBC, HUD, and state-specific codes. Documentation & Compliance Maintain organized digital project files, including contracts, field reports, and inspection records, ensuring audit readiness. Support close-out processes by compiling warranty documentation, final inspections, and client turnover packages. Assist in scheduling and coordinating third-party testing, consultant site walks, and municipal inspections. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the Project Manager to update stakeholders on progress, risks, and milestones through weekly reports and meetings. Collaborate with Procurement to verify material deliveries and reconcile purchase orders with production needs. Support sustainability initiatives by tracking material waste reduction metrics and contributing to LEED/ENERGY STAR compliance efforts. Operational Efficiency Utilize Procore, BIM software, and Sage 100 ERP to track project metrics and generate progress reports. Identify process improvements to reduce administrative bottlenecks and enhance workflow efficiency. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred). Experience: 2+ years in construction project coordination, preferably in modular/prefab or multi-family housing. Familiarity with reading architectural/structural plans and specifications. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Procore, AutoCAD, or equivalent project management software. Basic understanding of lean construction principles and ERP systems. Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills with ability to manage 15+ concurrent tasks. Clear written/verbal communication for client and subcontractor interactions. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to modular construction workflows and automated assembly processes. OSHA 10-Hour Certification or safety training. Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills. Work Environment Primary Location: Onsite at Vallejo manufacturing facility (production floor and office). Travel: Occasional site visits to regional construction locations. Physical Demands: Office-based role with periodic walkthroughs of production areas.
