REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in general construction or site supervision
  • Able to read and interpret construction plans and specs
  • Comfortable using project management tools such as PlanSwift, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Buildertrend, or Procore
  • Proficient with layout tools such as a Builder’s Level and GPS Base & Rover
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, and adaptability
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in-person at project sites in Auburn
Responsibilities

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Leader to support our General Construction team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate in a construction-related field or a candidate with at least 2 years of experience in project management or site coordination. This is a field-based role requiring daily presence on active job sites.

Key Responsibilities1. Project & Trade Partner Coordination

  • Review construction plans and communicate scope clearly with trade partners
  • Lead and attend jobsite meetings with contractors, engineers, and city officials
  • Communicate pricing requirements, expectations, and scope changes effectively
  1. Jobsite Layout & Inspections
  • Utilize GPS Base & Rover or Builder’s Level for site layout as needed
  • Perform quality control “Blue Tape” inspections
  • Oversee and document material deliveries and ensure accuracy
  • Coordinate inspections per AHJ requirements
  1. Scheduling & Reporting
  • Maintain and update construction schedules daily
  • Submit daily logs and status reports using construction management software
  1. Procurement & Budget Oversight
  • Procure job materials and manage variance purchase orders for unexpected scope adjustments
  1. Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor junior team members as the role progresses
  • Support Project Leaders in their day-to-day responsibilities
  1. Meetings & Process Accountability
  • Participate in weekly 1:1 check-ins with direct report
  • Attend process briefings and quarterly all-staff events
  1. Work Commitment
  • Be prepared to work longer hours when project demands require it
