POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of mechanical and specialty trade construction projects. This position partners with Project Managers and division leaders from preconstruction through closeout, helping ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The APM will also serve as a mentor to junior staff and play an important role in developing subcontractor relationships and improving internal processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical/Architectural Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience, preferably in mechanical or multi-trade environments.
  • Proven ability to manage project documentation, budgets, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and safety practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and commitment to team success.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with job cost control, forecasting, and financial documentation.
  • Prepare and track project budgets, pay applications, and change orders.
  • Support preconstruction efforts including estimate review and schedule input.
  • Review scopes of work and assist with contract management and submittals.
