Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects across multiple sectors. You will play a key role in ensuring successful project outcomes while maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to the wider Turner & Townsend team.

  • Sector Experience: Exposure to one or more of the following—Aviation, Water, Transport, Energy (Transmission & Renewable), Defence (Baseline or NV1 clearance), Civil Infrastructure.
  • Project Development: Assist in defining scope, developing business cases, and securing funding aligned with client needs.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Engage with diverse stakeholders to capture inputs, constraints, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Procurement Coordination: Support contract drafting, tender management, bid evaluation, and award processes for consultants and contractors.
  • Approvals & Planning: Collaborate with project teams to secure necessary planning and regulatory approvals.
  • Contract & Construction Management: Oversee compliance, manage payments and changes, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery on-site.
  • Risk, Quality & Cost Control: Identify risks early, implement mitigations, and manage project timelines and budgets effectively.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a motivated individual with a strong foundation in project delivery and a collaborative mindset.

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in project management, ideally within building construction or infrastructure.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian building standards and codes.
  • Project Oversight: Proven ability to manage multiple projects from design to close-out.
  • Leadership & Financial Acumen: Experience leading teams and managing project finances.
  • Client-Facing Skills: Strong communication and relationship-building across departments.
  • Sector Versatility: Experience in one or more of Aviation, Water, Transport, Energy, Defence, or Civil Infrastructure.
  • Operational Delivery: Demonstrated success in delivering projects within live operational environments.
