ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Third-level qualification in a relevant technical/engineering discipline, or significant experience in a similar technical field.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of budget management.
  • Ability to plan and deliver works logically and efficiently.
  • Experience in managing and motivating site employees and subcontractors.
  • Customer-focused approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to meet commercial targets and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Full driving licence and access to transport suitable for meeting role requirements.
  • Ambition to grow and develop within a project management role.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the safe, efficient delivery of works to the highest construction standards.
  • Support the execution of projects/programmes to ensure safety, quality, budget, and timeline targets are met.
  • Contribute to the commercial success of projects by ensuring profitable delivery at pre-calculated margins.
  • Liaise with Procurement and Contracts departments on pricing for materials and subcontractors.
  • Assist in managing employee performance, including addressing underperformance where necessary.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with customers.
  • Support the submission of claims to maximise cash flow.
  • Assist the Project Manager with budget oversight and cost control, including timely reporting for finance and progress updates.
  • Help prepare periodic project progress reports for customer review.
  • Provide support with HR-related matters at the site level, including disciplinary issues, as directed by the Project Manager.
