We are currently recruiting an Assistant Project Manager for our Victoria, BC Office. The Assistant Project Manager will communicate with the Project Director, Project Manager, Area Operations Manager, Superintendent, Project Coordinator, Director of Health and Safety, CSOs and other such Executive Managers as may be appropriate. The purpose of this position is to ensure that assigned projects comply with ITC Systems and Procedures as well as HR policies.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in civil engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience is preferred in the construction field, preferably on high rise residential projects.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, building codes, and project management software (e.g., Procore, SharePoint)
  • Ability to handle complex documentation and maintain accuracy in project tracking.
Responsibilities
  • Working in conjunction with the Manager Preconstruction Services, the Assistant Project Manager may be responsible for preparing and/or overseeing tendering of trade contracts and the preparation of the Control Budget.
  • Development of a project plan in accordance with Standard Procedure for Scheduling and Submittal Control, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Assisting in the tendering, negotiating and preparation of trade contracts and purchase agreements not provided by pre-construction services under the direction of a Senior Manager, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Day to day management, monitoring and correction of project construction to ensure compliance with the Master Schedule, Control Budget and Contract Documents in accordance with the duties outlined herein, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Ongoing monitoring and processing of plans, specifications, shop drawings and other submittals in accordance with Standard Procedure for Scheduling and Submittal Control and Standard Procedure for Shop Drawing and Document Control, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Professional leadership by creating and maintaining good relations and communications between corporate team members, client team members, civic officials and the public in accordance with responsibilities and duties common to all managers, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Review, action and response on daily project correspondence. Action and completion of project issues from incoming communications through to filing of completed items, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Receipt, logging and distribution of drawings, specifications, shop drawings, colour schedules, contemplated change orders, change orders, site instructions, consultant reports, concrete tests and material tests, inspection reports and RFI’s (requests for information), in accordance with standard procedures, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Ensure that proper drawings are forwarded to the Project Superintendent and that only “For Construction” drawings and specifications are used by site personnel and subcontractors, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Attend as required bi-weekly Sub-Trade Meetings as requested by the Superintendent.
  • Prepare minutes of Sub-Trade meetings and other such meetings as may be requested by the Superintendent.
  • Prepare, monitor and track the Linear Tracking System as requested by the Superintendent ensuring compliance with ITC Standard Procedure for Linear Tracking.
  • Attend as required bi-weekly Sub-Trade Meetings, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Develop integration schedule in accordance with standard ITC Scheduling Procedure and review with the superintendent to develop the Master Project Schedule, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
  • Prepare, monitor, update and track the Construction Schedule in accordance with Standard Procedure for Scheduling, as may be delegated by the Project Manager.
