Our mission is to reduce work-related fatalities, injuries and illnesses by ensuring workplaces comply with health and safety laws. We achieve this through a mix of responsive and proactive programs targeting high-risk areas across all industries, aligned with our strategic plan and regulatory priorities. Investigations & Enforcement is responsible for leading first-response activities for critical WHS incidents, conducting complex investigations, and driving regulatory enforcement outcomes. The Directorate manages the High-Risk Workplace and Repeat Offender Program, coordinates Enforceable Undertakings, and communicates WHS regulatory outcomes to the community. About the role: When a business or individual is alleged to have committed an offence under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, they may be eligible to submit an enforceable undertaking (EU) as an alternative to prosecution. If accepted, an EU requires the person or business to invest time, money and resources to implement significant workplace, industry and community WHS improvements. The EU team supports individuals and businesses throughout this process from initial contact with SafeWork NSW, through to the EU being accepted or rejected, and then ultimately verified to ensure completion of the EU. More information can be found here The Assistant Project Officer supports the delivery of key compliance and governance activities across the Enforceable Undertakings (EU) program. This role involves coordinating complex processes, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring strong operational and reporting practices. Key Responsibilities include: Manage a caseload of Enforceable Undertakings, ensuring timely coordination Provide high quality secretariat support for the EU panel Maintain strong governance practices, including coordinating reporting for EU program Support the EU program by maintaining and updating the framework and procedures Assisting with preparation of briefing notes and associated program documentation Assisting with ad hoc projects and initiatives to enhance the Enforceable Undertakings program To learn more about the role, please click here to download the role description. About You: We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual who thrives in a high volume, fast paced regulatory environment.
