Description

ABOUT US

The Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) is a business unit within the Department of Communities and Justice. BOCSAR is responsible for informing both the public and government about trends and patterns in crime and the criminal justice system. We do this through the release of statistical and research reports, evaluation of programs and policies, fulfillment of ad hoc data requests, and conducting both simple and complex statistical analyses to improve understanding.
BOCSAR also builds and maintains a wide range of statistical databases covering areas such as crime, criminal courts, prisons, youth detention, and reoffending behaviour.
At BOCSAR, we are committed to transparency and open access to information. We continually seek to improve how we share data and insights, adding value to justice statistics to support better understanding and encourage evidence-based decision-making.
The Assistant Project Officer is a key member of the Reporting and Insights Team. This is a small and highly collaborative team, working together to provide timely and accurate information to our internal and external clients.
