POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our team in delivering small-scale residential multi-unit development projects. The successful candidate will assist in managing costs, budgets, and contractual aspects of projects from inception to completion, ensuring financial control and value for money.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Prior internship or experience in quantity surveying or construction projects.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement processes is advantageous.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within the construction industry.
  • IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office and relevant QS software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or similar).

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and managing project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flows.
  • Support in procurement activities, including sourcing and tendering subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist with valuation of completed work and processing of interim and final payments.
  • Monitor project costs and track variations, providing timely reports to the team.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for all contractual agreements and changes.
  • Assist in cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project efficiency.
  • Support the team in risk management and mitigation related to costs.
  • Liaise with contractors, clients, and suppliers regarding contractual and financial issues.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier invoices for accuracy.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and cost control documentation.
