Fawkes & Reece South are working with a civil engineering contractor that are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. They work in collaboration with main contractors and local authorities on infrastructure and civil engineering projects in the South. Their projects are worth up to £5 million and are based in Sussex, Kent and Essex. Scope of works can include earthworks, drainage, kerbing, fencing, signage, road marking and surfacing.

You would be joining a small team as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor on various commercial duties in line with NEC3 contracts. You will be involved in (but not limited to):

  • Accurate monthly forecasting
  • Produce and send enquiries to subcontractors inviting them to tender
  • Notify in writing both successful and unsuccessful subcontractors in a timely manner
  • Producing and processing formal subcontract documents and certify interim and final payments
  • Cost capture, allocation of costs, accruals, subcontract liabilities
  • Material enquiries, quotations and ordering of materials including reconciliations
  • Liaising with site team, subcontractor and clients’ representative(s) and attending site meetings
  • Be proactive in self-development and professional qualifications.
  • Comply with company procedures and processes.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING CERTIFICATES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree-qualified or equivalent in a Quantity Surveying subject or similar
Experience working on any civil engineering or infrastructure projects based on NEC contracts
Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK
