The Assistant Racquets Professional provides lessons, maintains tennis courts and assists in operations of the racquets program.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES I. Instruction & Program Delivery (Tennis & Pickleball) 1. Assist in delivering high-quality private and group instruction for both tennis and pickleball, across all age groups and skill levels. 2. Support junior development programs, adult clinics, and special events to enhance member engagement. 3. Help implement and lead recreational and competitive play formats (e.g., round robins, socials, exhibitions). 4. Promote an inclusive, positive environment that encourages player improvement and enjoyment. 5. Shadow senior professionals to continue learning and developing technical and teaching skills. II. Court & Facility Maintenance 1. Support daily upkeep of the red clay tennis courts and hard pickleball courts, including brushing, watering, rolling, and lining as needed. 2. Assist with seasonal court setup, closures, and special event preparation. 3. Monitor court conditions and promptly report any issues or hazards to ensure safety and playability. 4. Maintain cleanliness and organization of court areas, teaching carts, and ball hoppers. III. Operations, Administration & Business Education 1. Learn and support retail operations, including point-of-sale transactions, merchandising, inventory tracking, and reordering. 2. Participate in scheduling and communications for lessons, clinics, and special events. 3. Assist with racquet services including stringing, grip replacement, and logging restring history for clients. 4. Help plan and execute events such as tournaments, member socials, and watch parties. 5. Attend regular staff meetings and contribute ideas to improve programming and client satisfaction. 6. Develop professionalism in client service, communication, and brand representation as part of an educational pathway toward a full racquets professional role. QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE Advanced knowledge of the game of Tennis. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent communication skills. Strong customer relations skills. Outgoing/engaging personality that will ensure an enjoyable and entertaining environment in a safe/professional setting. SUPERVISION Position functions with supervision. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of experience in Tennis Instruction. Prior teaching experience with both adults and children preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED Tennis Instructor Certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
