JOB SUMMARY Responsible for safety of range customers and staff. Has extensive knowledge about the operation of firearms of all types; offer assistance for shooters on range. Assists the Range Master with organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. Provide Range orientation for new members and walk-in, daily shooters. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensures strict adherence to range SOP at all times. * Assist with hiring, employee disciplines and evaluations. * Monitors activity on shooting lanes at all times. * Assists customers with lane and target operation. * Promotes and executes instructional programs and shooting events. * Knows and follows emergency response plans when required. * Operates Range point-of-sale software. * Sells memberships and retail inventory. * Assists in performing end of day secured inventory (rental guns and equipment) * Keeps range and range area sanitary and neat. * Maintains productive relationships with customers. * Attends training as required by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Friendly and positive daily attitude. * This person must be self-motivated and able to work without direction. * The Assistant Range Master must also have the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a team setting. * A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma is required. * Certifications equivalent to the NRA Range Officer is recommended. * Once hired, the Assistant Range Master must attain a minimum certification equivalent to the NRA Certified Range Officer and must be kept current during employment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position involves standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Some heavy lifting up to 70 lbs is required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
